Port Facilities
This cruise port is one of the biggest, with plenty of facilities on offer for guests at each terminal. There’s an arrivals lounge with lots of seating, vending machines and toilets (including disabled-access toilets) in each terminal. There’s also a café located just outside of the Ocean Cruise Terminal with a variety of refreshments and luggage drop-off areas at all of the terminals, with porters on hand to offer assistance.
How Do I Get to the Cruise Terminals?
The Port of Southampton is located within easy reach of the M3, M25 and M27, with the cruise terminals being signposted as you approach the city centre. Situated just off the A33, the cruise port is easily accessible by car.
If you’re travelling by rail, the nearest station to the port is Southampton Central. It’s approximately a 20-minute walk from the train station (this can, however, vary depending on the cruise terminal you’re sailing from). Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the station, which will take you to the port in approximately 5 minutes.
Whilst Southampton International Airport is located on the outskirts of the city (and has a train that stops at Southampton Central, that takes just under 10 minutes), the closest major airport to the port is London Heathrow (58.4 miles), followed by London Gatwick (58.8 miles) and Bristol (64.3 miles). You can reach the port from these via coach, rail or taxi.
Port Parking
If you’re travelling to the cruise port by car, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s a short-term car park at each cruise terminal (available at an extra cost) which is used for picking up or dropping off passengers. There are also long-term parking facilities available in the cruise port (also available at an additional cost), if you wish to leave your car ahead of your cruise. All of the parking facilities feature disabled bays.
Alternatively, there’s other options in the city centre (both short stay and long stay car parks) but these will be a short walk/drive away from the port.
Nearby Hotels
If you want to stay the night before or after your cruise, there are a variety of options available; including Travelodge Southampton Central, the Premier Inn Southampton West Quay hotel and Moxy Southampton.
